Description
Position: CEO (Founding Operator)
Location: Remote-first (Germany preferred)
Engagement: Full-time, flexible working model
Compensation: VSOP participation 2–5%, negotiable based on experience and contribution
Company language: German (primary), strong English required
Mission of the role
The CEO drives C-SAR’s vision into execution—transforming a near-complete MVP into a scalable, market-ready platform for community-based search and rescue. The role leads strategy, structure, and growth while preserving and advancing the product vision defined by the inventor.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute the go-to-market and commercialization strategy
- Lead pilot programs with fire departments and SAR organizations
- Build and manage the core operational team (tech, product, partnerships)
- Secure funding and strategic partnerships
- Establish operational processes, KPIs, and compliance standards (incl. data privacy)
- Represent C-SAR externally with stakeholders, investors, and authorities
- Align product roadmap with mission priorities and real-world field requirements
- Ensure successful rollout from MVP to nationwide deployment and scaling
Required profile
- Proven leadership in startups or mission-critical digital products
- Experience in SaaS, emergency tech, gov-tech, or high-regulation environments
- Strong strategic and execution skills from zero-to-one and scaling phases
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and building structure rapidly
- Excellent communication in German; fluent English for partners and international scaling
- High accountability, resilience, and ability to operate in high-stakes contexts
Nice to have
- Network in public safety, fire services, civil protection, or SAR organizations
- Background in operations, crisis coordination, or field-driven product environments
- Experience with VSOP-led teams and non-founder-led leadership models
